The filter is a vital part of your pool equipment. To ensure it continues to operate effectively, it will require regular cleaning. Fortunately, this is a quick and easy process with BioGuard Filter Brite.

FOR CARTRIDGE FILTERS

  1. Remove the cartridge from the filter.
  2. Rinse the filter with a garden hose.
  3. Mix one sachet of Filter Brite in a plastic container of clean water.
  4. Completely immerse the cartridge into the solution.
  5. Soak overnight.
  6. Rinse off the cartridge with a garden hose.
  7. Return the cartridge filter and continue to operate as normal.

FOR SAND/GLASS FILTERS

  1. Turn off the pump.
  2. Remove the pump basket lid.
  3. Completely dissolve one sachet of Filter Brite in 1-2 litres of clean water.
  4. Pour the Filter Brite solution into your pump basket.
  5. With the pump basket lid off, turn your pump back on.
  6. When the pump basket has emptied, turn the pump off and put the pump basket lid back on.
  7. Wait for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight.
  8. Backwash your filter. 
  9. Return your filter setting to filtration mode, and operate as normal.

And there you have it! Regular use of Filter Brite will assist in lengthening the life of your filter and reduce maintenance costs.

Shop Water Testing (Free of Charge) You can also bring a water sample to our shop for testing free of charge providing you are getting your chemicals from us.

Our onsite testing service includes:

  • Testing and balancing your pool water.
  • Clearing skimmer and pump baskets.
  • Backwashing the filter.
  • Checking over the entire pool system.

We’ll leave a detailed pool service report on-site, showing the water test results and any recommendations we have for keeping your pool in top condition. You can choose to use your own chemicals, or we can provide high-quality products to get the job done.

Shop Water Testing Guidelines

If you prefer to bring a water sample to our shop for testing, please make sure to:

  • Use a clean container (not metal) to collect the sample.
  • Take the sample from at least 400mm below the water surface to ensure an accurate representation of your pool's water quality.
