Recycling with Algon
We work closely with ALGON NZ supporting their recycling programme.
ALGON began recycling nearly 5 years ago, each year building success on success and this 2025/2026 season expect to recycle more than 10,000kgs of plastics from the pool industry.
One of the products they collect for recycle are our water test spin discs which otherwise would go to landfill. As these discs are made up of acrylic they never break down so for us landfill is a big “No, No” – Thanks to ALGON the discs are recycled, processed, and end up as part of the ingredients in acrylic paint.
ALGON are continually expanding their recycling programme and this upcoming season, once processes are finalised, will be including salt sacks, along with many different types of plastic bottles and containers for recycling.
